COURTNEY AND MILKBUD

My dad was 12 years old. His family had just fled the revolt in Sri Lanka and landed in Brisbane with nothing but a fresh start. Every morning he’d walk his little Sri Lankan ankles through the neighbourhood, knock on doors, memorise how many bottles each family needed, collect the empties and leave the fresh ones behind.
No plastic. No waste. Just a kid, a community, and something quietly reliable showing up at your door.
That image never left me.
When I started building MILKBUD I kept coming back to it! the delivery, the freshness, the showing up for people, the zero waste. It all connected. MILKBUD is named for that boy. For the milk run. For the idea that the most meaningful things in life are the ones that arrive at your door when you need them most.
